J.D. Smith is a Canadian scriptwriter who wrote for Dog City. Her episodes included Episode 101: The Big Squeak, Episode 209: Farewell My Rosie and Episode 301: The New Litter.

Smith has also written scripts for Babar, Sam and Max, Family Dog, and The Care Bears.
