A comfort object is an item used to provide psychological comfort, especially in unusual or unique situations, or at bedtime for children. These items may take the form of a doll, teddy bear or blanket. In many instances children will give names and personalities to their toys.
This page lists toys that have no more a role in their production than simply being inanimate toys or props. They can be played with and "brought to life" by characters, but when left alone, they are lifeless.
