Imagine That! is a 1996 Sesame Street video that encourages indoor play on rainy days.
Telly and Zoe take refuge from the rain in Finders Keepers and while away the rainy day using their imagination. While they wait for the rain to stop, they make toys and costumes out of recycled materials. They also try to help The Amazing Mumford perfect a magic spell that will transport him to the beach.

FRAME 1 | At the park, Telly Monster and Zoe are about to watch Gabi fly her kite. Telly worries that it's going to rain, and just as Zoe reassures him how beautiful the weather is, it suddenly turns into a violent storm, and they seek shelter in Finders Keepers. Oscar the Grouch, at his newsstand, shoos away bystanders trying to take cover from the rain.
FRAME 1 cont'd | Inside Finders Keepers, Gabi finds a note from Ruthie saying she'll be back in one hour. The kids (now including Lexine and Michael) sadly stare outside and sing "We Hate the Rain." They're joined by Stinky the Stinkweed and two flowers, who love the rain, and Oscar, who flips between the two extremes. Stinky is reminded of a certain cat.
Cartoon | A story of a cat who hated rain, wished for it to stop, and witnessed the disastrous effects of no rain. Artist: ArtistMike (First: Episode 2724)
FRAME 2 | The kids mope about, wishing that something interesting would happen, when The Amazing Mumford (in beachwear) poofs in. He explains that he intended to transport himself to the seashore with a rhyming spell, but because he needed a rhyme for "jeepers creepers," he came to Finders Keepers. Telly tells Mumford that he should think of a rhyme for a beach-related word. Zoe suggests "tree" as a rhyme for "sea." Mumford incorporates the words in his new spell and poofs away. The kids compliment Zoe's rhyming skills, unaware that Mumford is now under a damp tree in the rain.
Animation | Arnold uses his imagination. Artist: Craig Bartlett (First: Episode 2754)
FRAME 3 | Gabi points out that they can make toys using items from Ruthie's recycling bin. She pretends an old juice box is a superhero, while Telly turns it into a prowling, growling "tyrannosaurus boxus."
Muppets | Ernie sings "Imagine That" about things that he sometimes imagines to be: first a knight in shining armor who battles a dragon, then a sailor, and finally, himself. (First: Episode 2142)
FRAME 4 | The kids are busy making new things out of recyclables when Mumford returns, having overheard Zoe say that she's making a house with flowers all over it. Mumford tries to grant her wish, this time using his normal magic words, but he instead poofs up a mouse covered in flowers. Zoe decides to make a house for her new mouse.
Film | "Box City Recycling Rap" Kids sing a rap song about recycling. They build a city out of boxes and cartons. (First: Episode 2851)
FRAME 5 | The kids have finished building an entire town out of recycled boxes. Mumford still needs a magic word to go to the beach, so Gabi suggests "bee" to rhyme with "sea." However, Mumford's new spell produces an actual bee that flies around the room.
Song | "Exploring in Your Closet" (First: Episode 3132) Edited
FRAME 6 | The kids play pretend with some old clothes and sing "Let's Get Dressed Up." Mumford shows up again, having finally gotten rid of the bee. He rewards Gabi for helping him by granting her wish: a pair of dancing shoes. Mumford makes some sentient tap-dancing shoes appear, which isn't what Gabi had in mind.
Song | "Dancin' Shoes" (First: Episode 2949)
FRAME 7 / Animation | Mumford is still struggling to find the right rhyme for "sea," so Telly suggests "mon-key." Mumford gives it a try, and a book appears in his place. The kids hesitate to open the book when they hear jungle sounds emanating from it. The book opens on its own to reveal that Mumford (heard in voice-over) has turned into a monkey and is stuck inside a jungle (incorporating animation from the "Monkey's T-shirt" insert (First: Episode 2873)). The kids identify the pictured animals until they finally find Mumford. Back to normal in Finders Keepers, Mumford admits he's developed a hankering for bananas.
Animation | Cecille sings "The Game of Make Believe." (no intro) (First: Episode 2864)
FRAME 8 | The kids throw out more rhymes for "sea" until Telly and Zoe propose just asking nicely. Mumford thinks it's crazy enough to work, so he asks to "please" go to the beach and poofs out. The others aren't sure the trick worked until they hear Mumford mention that he forgot his sunglasses, which poof away as well. Then they all cheer.
Song | "Happy Happiness," against footage of kids playing at a beach. (First: Episode 3320) Mumford briefly appears over the segment.
FRAME 9 | Telly, Zoe, and the kids reflect on their day in the song "Rainy Day Wishes." Carlo comes by and lets them know the rain has stopped. Telly notes that they were having so much fun, they didn't notice. Everyone goes back outside to play in the park, and the song is reprised under the credits. |
