Title

I'm Glad I'm Me is a 1986 Sesame Street video compilation in the "My Sesame Street Home Video" series. Maria reads a story called I'm Glad I'm Me, which Big Bird and Grundgetta act out, playing the roles of Prince Charmingbird and Princess Grouchy, respectively. In this story, they learn about self-esteem and parts of the body.

FRAME 1
Maria begins to read the titular story, which features Prince Charmingbird (Big Bird), who rides atop his horse "Big Fella", and Princess Grouchy (Grundgetta). The two overhear a distressed young lad (Ernie) weeping in the nearby apartment and quibble over who should help him. As they argue, a gallant knight named Bert comes to the lad's aid.

Template:Eba Ernie thinks that he isn't special. Bert tells Ernie to feel his nose -- "That's an Ernie nose!" -- and then feel his hair, and wiggle his fingers. Bert says that nobody else is just like Ernie. Encouraged, Ernie tells the audience to do the same.

Prince Charmingbird points out that he doesn't have a nose to squeeze, but rather a beak, and wonders if he's special or not ("That is the question"). Princess Grouchy naturally decides not to reveal the answer, but a smart frog happens by to answer with a song.

Prince Charmingbird finally understands that you're special no matter what features you have. The prince proclaims his happiness throughout the kingdom, and decides to magically draw a picture of his happy face. Princess Grouchy then draws her grouchy face.

Sesame Street Pageants: Prairie Dawn directs the cast in a pageant about the face. Ernie talks about eyes, Herry Monster talks about the nose, Cookie Monster talks about the mouth, and Bert and Grover talk about ears. At the end of the pageant, they assemble a picture of a face.

Princess Grouchy explains to Prince Charmingbird that there are even more important things inside a person, such as thoughts and feelings. Prince Charmingbird thanks the princess and offers her a ride into the sunset on his horse. Princess Grouchy opts for a trip to the junkyard instead. They gallop across Sesame Street and Maria finishes the story, reminding the viewer "You should be very glad that you're you."
