"How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?" was a novelty hit first recorded by Patti Page in 1952. In episode 512 of The Muppet Show, an instrumental version was performed by three birds, with one bird holding the strings to create the notes plucked by the other two on a guitar, accompanied by barking dogs and a walrus.
