- Zoot appeared in Miss Piggy's Art Masterpiece Calendar as The Sleepy Zootsy, a spoof of Rousseau's "Sleeping Gypsy."
- In episode 3529 of Sesame Street, Baby Bear shows Big Bird his favorite painting at the Museum of Modern Art, "The Sleeping Gypsy". By imagining the sounds coming from the painting, they can almost hear them.
- In the coloring book Museum of Monster Art, Rousseau's painting The dream is spoofed with Big Bird and Grover.
