Gulliver is a seagull who is Big Bird's penpal. He appears in Sesame Street Episode 4021, when he comes to the street to meet Big Bird. Gulliver is accustomed to the segregated nature of his neighborhood, where birds only play with birds, and is initially frightened of and prejudiced towards Snuffy and the rest of the street's inhabitants.

However, Big Bird and Snuffy teach him that different species can be friends, whether they have feathers or not, and that one meets people, bears, and monsters the same way one meets birds, by saying "How Do You Do?" Gulliver is relieved and overjoyed to meet everyone, regardless of race, creed, or lack of beak.
