Grovers-grandma2

Grover's Grandma appears in the 1992 Sesame Street storybook My Name Is Grover. Grover explains that his favorite letter is G, because "It is the first letter in Grover, and Grandma, and garden, and goldfish!"

Grover attempted to visit his Granny in the 1978 book Grover Visits His Granny. She's never seen as he never makes it to her house, so it's not known if this is the same grandmother. It is notable that the character in the 1978 book is referred to as "Granny" while the 1992 character is "Grandma"; children commonly refer to their grandparents using different nicknames for their paternal and maternal sides of the family.

There are two stories illustrated by Larry DiFiori in the 1983 Sesame Street Treasury books that show a relative with white hair who Grover refers to as "my mommy" — "Around the Clock with Grover" in volume 3, and "All in the Family" in volume 5. A white-haired woman referred to as "Mrs. Monster" also appears in the 1989 Let's Get Dressed!

An animated version of Grover's grandma (voiced by Stephanie D'Abruzzo) appeared in a 2020 online video. (YouTube)
