He visits the street for Hooper's Store's special "Grandparents Day" celebration. He has a habit of nicknaming everyone he meets as "baby," which is how Baby Bear earned his name. He also gets easily frustrated with the various, electronic devices his wife buys for him. He muses about the simpler days of his childhood and tells Baby Bear and Elmo about how life in the woods was like without any technology.
Later in the episode, Grampy Bear's laptop helps Elmo communicate with his own grandparents, who were unable to attend the event.
