In 1976, Nippon Television aired a TV special starring Japanese musician Goro Noguchi featuring appearances by the Muppets. The Muppets appeared in songs and sketches for twenty of the ninety minute special.

Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt and members of the the Henson family began filming in Japan on March 20th. The Muppet Show characters were featured including the Electric Mayhem, Crazy Harry and Kermit the Frog.
