Gorillas are the largest living primates, omnivores who are native to Africa.

In Muppet productions, the earliest known gorilla is Quongo from The Muppet Show (while other appearances utilized Gorilla Suits). The Jim Henson Hour featured Ubu the Gorilla who ran Gorilla Television with Chip and Zondra.

In the 1990s, a more realistic gorilla puppet was built for The Animal Show, debuting as Lenny the Gorilla. It was recycled again on that series and on Mopatop's Shop, as Mary the Gorilla, Monty and as a nameless bit player.

Several Creature Shop productions have also featured gorillas, notably Buddy and George of the Jungle.
