Gigi is a 1958 movie musical, with a screenplay and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Considered the last great MGM musical, the film was ranked number 35 on the American Film Institute list of top film love stories, and it was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry, and upon its release the film won a then record setting nine Academy Awards. The film is set in turn-of-the-20th century Paris, and follows the story of a young girl, Gigi, and her romantic adventures with a non-marrying man. Many songs from the film became classics, including "I Remember It Well" and "Thank Heaven for Little Girls."
- In The Muppet Show episode 204, Rich Little and Miss Piggy perform "I Remember It Well" during a medley. For this portion, Little does an impersonation of Maurice Chevalier, and the staging of the number is taken directly from the film.
