Ghostbusters is a 1984 film which spawned two sequels and an animated series.

- The Muppet Babies used clips from the movie on several occasions, including the opening. One notable example is in the first season episode "Good Clean Fun," in which the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man is spoofed as "The Piggy Dough Girl."
- In the Muppet Babies episode "Bug-Busting Babies", the Babies re-enact the ghost hunting team during the song "Bug Busters."
- Muppet Magazine issue 10 featured a comic spoof called "Grossbusters."
- In episode 206 of Muppets Tonight, in order to rid the studio of the berserk Robot Abe Lincoln, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker don exterminator outfits and backpacks that resemble Ghostbusting gear.
- A billboard advertisement for Ghostbusters II can be seen in the background in Miss Piggy's Hollywood, in the second scene of Fozzie Bear looking for the Comedy Store.
