Frankie appeared in the Sesame Street song "Everyone in My Family" where he was seen making fun of a little girl named Kelly as she unsteadily tries to skate. Big Bird tells Frankie that he shouldn't be so mean and judgmental to Kelly, and sings about a time when everyone in his family but him could roller skate. Frankie is one of the few Sesame Street characters made from the modified version of the Large Lavender Live Hand Anything Muppet pattern with rod arms added.
