Scene | Mehmet, Samson and Feli Filu are preparing potatoes for dinner. Wolle and Pferd come by and they start to talk about where potatoes come from. Mehmet tells them that potatoes originally came from America, where they were discovered by Christopher Columbus. Samson thinks it would have been an exciting voyage to have been on. Samson Columbus has set sail to find a new route to India, and with him are helmsman Mehmet and shipmate Feli. | |

Scene | Samson Columbus' crew are starting to doubt that they will ever reach India, and they have run out of food. Samson Columbus tries to reassure them that they will reach their goal and that the hardship is just part of being a explore. Samson Columbus then starts to sing a song about being on the sea. After the song they discover land on the horizon. | |

Scene | Samson Columbus starts to talk about how proud he is that they have reached India, but his shipmates want him to hurry up so that they can start to search for food. Two natives greet them and tell them that it's not India, but America. Samson Columbus can't understand why it's not India, and leaves to do some calculations. Feli and Mehmet ask the natives if they have any food. The natives then present the crew of the Santa Maria with a potato plant. Feli asks how you prepare it, so one of the natives tells her the many ways you can cook a potato. One way is to deep fry it, but the native then remembers that it han't been invented yet. Samson Columbus returns and is certain that his calculations are correct and that they have reached India and he gets in an argument with the natives, who claim they reached America. Back on Sesamstrasse Samson says he doesn't care if it is India or America; he is so hungry. The others agree. Pferd then says that he went on his own expedition, discovered the potatoes and ate them all. | |
