Statler and Waldorf reversed positions

In productions and appearances featuring Statler and Waldorf, Statler traditionally sits on the right, and Waldorf on the left. The duo even maintains these relative positions during their dance routines of "The Varsity Drag" and "Marley and Marley." However through the years there have been some instances where their positions have been reversed; one notable example is their debut in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence.

During a 2015 Twitter Q&A, the pair was asked what would happen if they switched positions. They responded, "It may disrupt the time-space continuum! Which may get rid of The Muppets... let's try it!"^[1]
