Anke was one of the main characters on Sesamstrasse, the German version of Sesame Street, from 2003 to 2004. The character debuted in episode 2231.

She was played by Anke Engelke, and even though the character's last name was never revealed, the show made it appear as if the actress was basically playing herself.

A very musical person, she was good friends with Muppet characters Samson, Tiffy, Feli Filu, Finchen and Rumpel, who equally loved to play instruments with her and sing.
