Manfred Krug

Manfred Krug (1937-2016) was a German actor who played Manfred on Sesamstrasse from 1982 to 1983.

He was usually paired with Lilo to interact with Samson, Tiffy, Finchen, and Uli von Bödefeld in the street scene frame stories.

Krug had been a jazz singer and acted in German films in the fifties and sixties, often with star billing. On TV, Krug starred as a truck driver on Auf Achse from 1980 to 1993, with his Sesamstrasse stint occurring between the first and second seasons. He went on to the long-running crime series Tatort, playing Hauptkommissar Stoever in the Hamburg-produced episodes from 1984 until 2001. Overlapping with the role (since Tatort investigators rotated), he starred on Detektivbüro Roth (1986-1987) and the lawyer series Liebling Kreuzberg (1986-1998).
