SCENE Kids, monsters and sheep of all kinds are preparing for the local "Simon Says Competition." Telly welcomes the viewer and introduces the representative from Sesame Street: Elmo! Elmo and Chris explain he can't participate; the game's only for kids between 4 and 10 (Elmo's only three and a half). Telly's old enough and they suggest he play, but he declines, claiming he's not good at it. Chris leads them in a practice game and Telly loses quickly. He doesn't understand the point of the game; "It's not like Simon is a real person we have to listen to, right?"

SCENE cont'd Suddenly, Philip appears, introducing the man everybody listens to, Simon (Peter Dinklage)! Telly asks him why everyone must do what he says, and Simon sings a song about how ever since he was young, people have just done "Whatever Simon Says." Philip, sick of living in his brother's shadow, constantly mutters remarks against him. Telly still isn't sure he'll compete, until Simon uses his Jedi-like powers of persuasion to get him to play.

SCENE cont'd Telly has one of his patented freak-outs over failing and letting everyone. Simon doesn't see how he can play with all the worry within him and sings his song again, telling him to relax. Telly does some relaxing breaths and Chris starts another practice game. Telly loses again, but does make it further than before. Simon sings his song once more, telling him to pay attention and listen for the words "Simon Says." The game's set to the start and Simon leaves Telly with the key to winning: relax, listen and think.

SCENE cont'd Philip introduces Simon and the games begin. As the game progresses, Telly successfully makes it through, ending up in the final three. As a little lamb messes up, it's just Telly and a girl. Simon tells them to wish each other good luck, only since he didn't say "Simon Says," the girl who wishes it on Telly is disqualified. Telly wins! Everyone gathers around him to celebrate and Simon makes an announcement: next year, instead of "Simon Says," the competition will be "Philip Says." Philip makes a ludicrous command, "Balance a rhinoceros on your nose!" Everyone shoots him strange looks and Simon assures him they have a year to work on it.
