Episode 305: Pearl Bailey: During the joust, The Back Knight (Gonzo) yells to his steed (a cow), "Run, Louise, run!" (named after her puppeteer).
Episode 306: Jean Stapleton: There is a sign backstage which reads: "NOTICE -- TRY-OUTS FOR DANCING PIGEONS Must be able to do the buck and wing -- Contact Bert of S.S." and a telephone number.
Episode 313: Muppet News Flash mentions Mr. and Mrs. Lazer attempting to break the record for overhand refrigerator throwing.
When Digit has a case of "the reruns" in episode 101 and strings together a number of television catch phrases, one of the sentence fragments he utters is "Today's show is brought to you by the letter--", a reference to the sponsor letters on Sesame Street.
Bert and Ernie make meta references to the obvert educational content on Sesame Street by commenting to Doc that "where we come from, this is small talk" when discussing letters.
Upon meeting Cookie Monster, Animal comments "That my kind of fella", a reference to the two both being played with similar characteristics by Frank Oz.
When Miss Piggy takes control of the military aircraft in the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Kermit calls out to her: "How are we going to explain this to Big Bird?"
In many episodes, when Kermit announces the guest star of the episode, a Pigs in Space photo is visible behind Kermit. Similarly, the commissary featured posters from sets of Muppet Trading Cards. This is similar to The Muppet Show featuring photos of previous guest stars hanging on the walls of the theatre.
Letters to Santa - airport paging Oznowicz and Nelson
An announcement for a Francis Oznowicz is heard over the airport intercom. This was similarly done over an airport intercom in Into the Night. Later in the same scene, Jerry Nelson's name is called.
A folder in the writer's room in "Because... Love" is labelled "Straight Outta Henson Studios", which also spoofs a viral marketing campaign from the 2015 film Straight Outta Compton which documents the formation of rap group N.W.A. (featuring Ice Cube).
In the same episode, Kermit sings along to his own performance of "Bein' Green" (the 1975 Sesame Street recording by Jim Henson) while driving in his car.
When sharing his computer screen, beginning with the episode "Due Date," Scooter's desktop image can be glimpsed behind an unorganized slew of files and folders, revealing a (new) baby photo of his younger self.
In the episode "Fever Pitch," Fozzie Bear offers Scooter "100 Pitches" for a new segment. Most of these are title parodies, referencing TV shows. "The Gags Beasley Comedy Hour" references Fozzie's comedy writer since Muppet Show.
Pepe tells Kermit that he almost got married; Kermit responds, "Been there, done that." This alludes to the various times Kermit almost marriedMiss Piggy, a frequent occurrence across The Muppet Show episodes, movies, and other media.
Appearing in interview footage for "The Music Lowdown" in "Can You Picture That," Lips is wearing a t-shirt that reads, "Tutter Street Trumpet Company" with a blue silhouette of Tutter's head used as the logo. Peter Linz performed both Lips and Tutter on Bear in the Big Blue House.
While in the hospital in "True Colors," a voice can be heard over the call system saying "Paging Dr. Oznowicz, paging Dr. Oznowicz."
Throughout the series, the ringtone on Lips' cellphone is a marimba version of the "Do do-do do" portion of "Mah Na Mah Na." He answers the phone in his mumbling manner saying "Mahna Mahna."
In "The Times They Are A-Changin'," The Electric Mayhem drive by The Pizza Twins. The sign replaces the real-world Soprano Italian restaurant on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, CA.
In the first flashback sequence in "Fortunate Son," Dr. Teeth meets Floyd Pepper in a music store called "The Original Jerry’s Tunes." The store's sign boasts "established 1934" (the year Jerry Nelson was born).
Nora is seen eating a bowl of Cröonchy Stars in "Fortunate Son."
In a calendar seen throughout "Eight Days a Week," a drawing of Kermit the Frog (similar to one by Jim Henson) appears in the April 16th date.
Floyd mentions in "Virtual Insanity," "We don't beef with nobody. Well, 'cept that one band from Riverbottom." Dr. Teeth replies, "Yeah, they were a nightmare."
After Nora's car breaks down in the desert in "We Will Rock You," The Electric Mayhem pick her up with their bus, a parallel to the desert scene in The Muppet Movie.
When Zoot looks at photos on the ceiling of the bus in "We Will Rock You," he points out a photo and says, "There's us taking Manhattan."
Lips' t-shirt during the last scenes in "We Will Rock You" (as well as promotional interviews for the series) reads, "Property of Eldon Elementary," referencing Eldon Avenue where Elstree Studios was located.
