Oscar produces his own shell from his can that gives the feeling of the ocean - it squirts water in Maria's face when she looks at it! "You ougtha be glad it wasn't high-tide!" quips the Grouch.

Snuffy is awakened and they marvel at Mount Ihu Papa'a Lo'ihi Nui -- Mount Snuffleupagus! Excited, Snuffy runs toward the mountain to get a closer look.

The adults finally catch up with Big Bird but don't believe his exciting story, nor the part where the giant Snuffleupagus speaks after staying dormant for 100 years. After the grown-ups lead Big Bird away, the ground trembles as the mysterious mythical creature (voiced by Jerry Nelson) moves over and settles down for another 100-year nap. Maria announces the sponsors.
