Hopi Hari is a theme park in Brazil, located in Vinhedo, São Paulo. The park, which first opened on November 27, 1999, is portrayed as a fictitious country that is divided into five different areas, or regions – Kaminda Mundi, Mistieri, Infantasia, Aribabiba and Wild West – with park employees playing the roles of its “inhabitants”.[1]
The Infantasia area was originally themed around Vila Sésamo, the Brazilian version of Sesame Street.
History[]
The park was designed and built by International Theme Park Services, Inc., a U.S. based company, inspired by King’s Island in Cincinnati.[2] In 1999, Bill Culbertson was commissioned to do fourteen preliminary sculpts,[3] full size, ready for fiberglass coating, completing the five main characters of Sesame Street for Hopi Hari Theme Park. In addition, he made eight Muppet animals and developed an eight-foot Big Bird in concrete.[4] The use of photography was restricted at the time.

The SRF company produced the characters in styrofoam coated with flame-reinforced fiberglass, internally reinforced and painted in the characters' original colors.[6] Walk-arounds of Elmo, Ernie (Ênio), Bert (Beto), Cookie Monster (Come-Come) and Zoe appeared in a live show and throughout Infantasia, although this area was more based on the American series. The area consisted of both wet and dry attractions. Hopi Hari discontinued Vila Sésamo in late 2011.
- Giralata – spinning ride; guests ride in turning trash cans as Oscar looks on. It is a mechanical turntable that worked on the basis of a circular axis, there is no minimum height. However, children up to 1.10m must be accompanied by a guardian.[7]
- Klapi Klapi Show – In the official description, it informs that in Infantasia, adults will be able to remember their childhood and children will fall in love with the fun characters of Sesame Street, who gain an exclusive space for their daily performances: the "Teatro da Arena" (Arena Theater). The venue has a capacity for 220 people. The public will be able to watch a fun and educational show, which features the incredible characters Elmo, Ênio, Beto, Come-Come and Zoe.[8]
The other attractions in the park consisted of "Kastel di Lendas" (a castle attraction that explores Brazilian culture through animatronic puppets and music), "Giranda Pokotó" (carousel), "Chabum" (water playground), "Bugabalum" (balloon ride), "Komboio" (miniature truck ride), "Komboio" (miniature truck ride), "Dispenkito" (free fall tower), "Parkid" (play area for children), "Pizzae Hango" (pizzeria) and "Shopi" (gift shop).[9]
