On the Town is the sixth volume collecting strips from The Muppets newspaper comic strip.
The book is dedicated to Dan.
With the exception of the front and back covers which consist of new illustrations in color, the book is printed entirely in black and white, preserving the original artwork published in daily newspapers. None of the color strips created for Sunday comics are reproduced.
The strips retain their month and day date as inserted into the strip by the artist, but omit the year of publication. They are printed out of order, sometimes grouping together similar themes which may or may not have been published in sequence.
The book measures 4⅛ inches wide by 6⅞ inches tall. As such, each strip has been arranged from its original wide layout to fit the orientation of the pages.
