Plot	The Grouch'o'meter

	Scene	Rumpel is just about to finish his latest invention: a "Grouch'o'meter". After he goes to fetch the last screw he is missing, Finchen and Samson come upon the machine. They are very curious about what that strange looking machine does. Samson notices a scale going from "0" to 59 and a label with a "G", and that there is a pointer that is pointing at the 0. Samson concludes that the "G" stands for grams, so the machine has to be for weighing things to see how heavy they are. They decide to try the machine out by weighing Finchen, but the machine is still showing 0, so maybe Finchen is too light for the machine.
	Muppets	Ernie invents a machine that makes As -- you turn the crank "over here", you push the button on top, and out comes an A. But it doesn't work when it rains -- it only makes As when the sun shines.
	Animation	A man asks kids about zero. (Includes an animated Oscar cameo)
	Scene	Samson and Finchen decide to try and see if the machine can weigh a big bear, since apparently a small snail was too small for the machine. Samson jumps up on the machine, but Finchen tells him that according to the machine he weighs 0 grams. Then Finchen realizes that maybe it's not a machine to measure weight, but what is it for?
	Film	Kids experiment to see what is heavy and what is light.
	Muppets	Prairie Dawn hosts a pageant about heavy and light, where Monty shows "heavy" with a large boulder and Merry Monster shows light with a "feather".

	Scene	Samson thinks that maybe the "G" stands for "Grad" (degrees), so the machine measures temperatures. Finchen suggests that they make some hot chocolate and try to measure that. While they are away making the hot chocolate, Rumpel returns with the screw so he can finish the Grouch'o'meter, and then leaves to get some junk so he can test his machine. Samson and Finchen return with the hot chocolate. Samson pours it into the machine, but according to the machine, the hot chocolate is 0 degrees. That can't be right; the chocolate was hot, so the only explanation is that the machine is not for measuring temperature. They decide to take a closer look at the machine.
	Film	Kids talk about machines that they want to invent.

	Scene	As Finchen and Samson take a closer look, they notice a button on the machine, and wonder what would happen if they push it.
	Muppets	Kermit talks about clues. He shows that a boy has grown some carrots because he has a hoe, a watering can, and a bunch of carrots. Next, he confirms that a man has built a birdhouse because of his wood, paint, and carpenter's tools. When he notices Beautiful Day Monster with a suitcase and an umbrella, Kermit assumes that the monster is going on a trip. The monster corrects him; he's planning to eat his umbrella, and uses the suitcase to carry the ketchup he'll use to eat it with.
	Cartoon	A dog tries to get hold of a bone on a pillar.
	Scene	Finchen pushes the button and the machine starts to make noise. Finchen concludes that it is a noise machine. Then Rumpel comes back with a cart full of junk. He is upset that they have started his delicate Grouch'o'meter. He then explains to Samson and Finchen that the machine measures how grouchy the junk is, and he starts to put various junk into the machine. As Rumpel puts more and more junk into the machine, it makes more noise and more smoke, until it explodes. Samson and Finchen think that it's sad that the machine broke down, but Rumpel is delighted. It was supposed to blow up so that it could make a beautiful mess with all the junk inside the machine.
