Gone and Back is the third arc in the Farscape comic series published by BOOM! Studios. Each issue is co-written by Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon (story) and Keith R. A. DeCandido (script), with art by Tommy Patterson.

In the four-issue miniseries, John Crichton is accidentally sent to an unrealized reality in which he never met Aeryn Sun.

Issue #1: Through a Glass, Weirdly[]

Farscape Comics (41)
Release Date: July 22, 2009

After learning that Deke has a mysterious gland on his fourth vertebrae, Crichton and Aeryn take him to Gaarn, Rygel's court physician on Hyneria. During Deke's examination, Hyneria comes under attack, and in the midst of the chaos, Crichton is sent to an alternate reality.

In this reality, Zhaan and D'Argo are alive, and the Moya crew is joined by a new member — Coron. However, the most substantial difference is that Crichton is married to Katralla, and the two have a daughter named Katrana; no one onboard Moya has ever met a Peacekeeper named Aeryn Sun.

Issue #2: With Enemies Like These...[]

Farscape Comics (44)
Release Date: August 26, 2009

The Moya crew takes Katrana to Hyneria for a routine medical checkup. There, Crichton encounters Scorpius who, in this reality, is a longtime ally of Crichton. Crichton asks Scorpius for help with finding Aeryn, and Scorpius points him in the direction of a tracker named Roiin.

Meanwhile, Aeryn has her child examined. Her child, and several others that she miscarried, have the same gland that Deke has in the normal reality. Katrana does not have the abnormality.

Crichton sends a message to Roiin, but it turns out that Roiin is the same man who attempted to kidnap Deke in "Hynerian Rhapsody."

Issue #3: Call in the Murines[]

Farscape Comics (67)
Release Date: September 30, 2009

Crichton hires Roiin and brings him back to Moya. Attempting to get information on his reality's Roiin, Crichton questions Roiin on whether or not he would hunt down a child, to which Roiin responds that he'll go after anybody for the right price.

Roiin is able to track down Aeryn who is stationed onboard a PK command carrier, commanded by Mele-On Grayza. Roiin is going to need help getting onboard, and Crichton volunteers D'Argo's ship Lo'la. Initially resistant, D'Argo begrudgingly agrees at the behest of Chiana.

On the command carrier, Aeryn has been feeling an odd presence, as if someone out there knows her.

Issue #4: All Fall Down[]

Farscape Comics (9)
Release Date: October 21, 2009

In this alternate reality, Lo'la is actually the hybrid gunship Talyn. With Coron and D'Argo distracting the Peacekeeper's Prowlers, Roiin, Crichton, and Zhaan are able to infiltrate the command carrier.

When Crichton finds Aeryn, she reacts with hostility, but combined with the feeling she's been having recently and Crichton's extensive knowledge of her past, she softens up slightly but won't leave her child. As the Moya crew is confronted by Grayza and the Peacekeepers, Crichton is transported back to his own reality.

Crichton now knows who's after Deke, and he knows that the gland near Deke's spine triggered his trip. Discussing these facts with Aeryn, he tells her that because Aeryn's child in the alternate reality had the same gland as Deke, the mutation comes from her and is not a result of human-Sebacean reproduction.
