The Beginning of the End of the Beginning is the first arc in the Farscape comic series published by BOOM! Studios. Each issue is co-written by Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon (story) and Keith R. A. DeCandido (script), with art by Tommy Patterson.

The four-issue miniseries picks up shortly after the events of Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. It follows Rygel, accompanied by several members of the Moya crew, as he goes back to his home planet of Hyneria. At the same time, a mysterious man seems to be stalking John Crichton and Aeryn Sun, whose newborn child is exhibiting supernatural abilities.

Issue #1: The Return of the King[]

Release Date: December 24, 2008

The Moya crew travels to Hyneria after Rygel receives a transmission from one of his wives. When they arrive, they realize they have walked into a trap, and Rygel, Jothee, and Chiana are imprisoned. Meanwhile, Aeryn and John struggle with their newfound parenthood.

Issue #2: Dungeons and Dominars[]

Release Date: February 4, 2009

With Rygel, Jothee, and Chiana set to be executed by Bishan (Rygel's cousin and dominar of Hyneria), John and Aeryn attempt to rescue their friends, taking their baby Deke with them. However, they encounter Scorpius who takes Deke away and imprisons John and Aeryn with the other Moya crew members. Additionally, Rygel is transferred to a Peacekeeper prisoner ship.

Issue #3: Yes, That's Our Baby[]

Release Date: March 4, 2009

Scorpius reveals himself to be Dominar Bishan's Commissioner of Warfare. He assumed that John and Aeryn were on Hyneria to interfere with his business. Despite their attempts to explain that isn't true, Scorpius doesn't believe them. After being sent back to their cell, John and Aeryn are able to escape Hynerian custody with Deke.

Rygel takes control of the prisoner ship, along with several other imprisoned Hynerians. After rescuing John, Aeryn, and the rest of the Moya crew, he plans to take back the Hynerian throne.

Rygel takes control of Hyneria and reclaims his throne. Subsequently, he banishes Scorpius from Hyneria's borders. Back on Moya, a mysterious man attempts to kidnap Deke.
