"Happy" is a song performed by American singer Pharrell Williams, that was first released in 2013 for Universal's animated film, Despicable Me 2.

On November 21, 2013 the song was released as a single, together with an online music video that went viral (featuring Kelly Osbourne, Magic Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel, Steve Carell and Jamie Foxx, among others) because of its unprecedented length (24 hours). The video spawned many localized versions filmed by fans around the world that were then shared on YouTube. The song climbed to #1 on the Billboard "Hot 100" in early 2014. The song was parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic as "Tacky" on Yankovic's 2014 album Mandatory Fun (and in a music video featuring Yankovic, Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal, and Jack Black).

On March 24, 2014, German Sesame Street co-production Sesamstrasse released a trailer for their set of new episodes, starting to air April 7, while making their own short version video for the song. During the roughly minute-long cut, Cookie Monster, Wolf, Wolle, Pferd, Elmo, Grover, Ernie and Bert, and Finchen dance to the tune. The dance sequences were filmed during breaks while filming the fourth season of Eine Möhre fuer Zwei.

Kermit the Frog lip-synced to the song on a video for Mashable. (YouTube)
