Rodney Dangerfield (1921-2004) was a comedian best known for his catchphrase, "I don't get no respect."
He was up to be profiled in the Summer 1986 edition of Muppet Magazine, but the issue instead went with promotion for Labyrinth.[1]

- In the January 17, 1982 entry of The Muppets comic strip, a physically stressed Fozzie Bear asks, "I wonder if Rodney Dangerfield started like this?"
- In the December 1, 1984 edition of the strip, Fozzie signs his autograph for a young fan. However, he tosses it in the trash upon realizing that he wasn't Rodney Dangerfield.
- The Winter 1984 issue of Muppet Magazine pairs a photo of Dangerfield with Fozzie Bear in "The Second Great Muppet Look-Alike Contest."
- In the Muppet Babies episode "Fozzie's Last Laugh," Baby Kermit appears as a stage comedian "Kermit Danger-Frog," wearing a variation of Dangerfield's iconic suit and loose necktie.
