Louise CAMDEN WALK
CAMDEN WALK

Jim Henson's Camden was a walk held on Sunday 1st August 2010 in Camden, London. Louise Gold led attendees through Hampstead where Jim lived and where the Creature Shop opened and then up through Hampstead Heath to Jim and Don Sahlin's bench where they sang and let balloons go.

"Learn about the life and inspirations of Jim Henson on this fantastic walk for all ages – and meet some puppets on the way. One of history’s best known puppeteers and creator of the Muppets, he was the creative force behind hit television series and films including Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. A resident of Hampstead for many years, his Creature Shop was located in Camden Town."

A Review: This was such a fabulous walk, beautifully presented by Central School of Speech and Drama students led by Joanna Hruby with fascinating commentary from Louise Gold who was one of the puppeteers with Jim Henson, she was the only British puppeteer on the Muppets. Her stories were fascinating and the walk led us through some beautiful parts of Hampstead and ended on the Heath at Jim Henson and Don Sahlin's bench where we sang a song and released balloons in Jim's memory. Very moving. Many thanks to Jonathan Bergman for the original idea of a Henson walk!
