COLD OPEN | What's the Word on the Street?: Transportation
SCENE | At dusk, Leela welcomes the viewer as she closes the laundromat, as she and Chris are going to a party tonight. Abby, having overheard the word "party," appears to help her get ready. Although the party isn't a grand ball like Cinderella's, Abby insists she make her look beautiful. Abby thinks up a rhyme for "clothes" and sings a "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo"-style spell to change Leela's outfit, but instead of a ball gown, she ends up dressed as a pirate (complete with a parrot). Abby waves her wand a different way this time, resulting in a football uniform. Abby is dismayed her trick isn't working, but Leela asks her to press on, telling her to be more specific with her rhyme. Using a more specific spell, Leela now sports a beautiful ball gown.
SCENE cont'd | Abby thinks Leela looks great... except her hair isn't "party hair." Abby sings another spell, giving Leela a red, punk-style hairdo. Abby uses a different rhyme, resulting in a Bride of Frankenstein look. Leela reminds Abby to be clear with what she wants. Abby gives the spell one more try and gives Leela a hair style to go perfectly with her dress.
SCENE cont'd | Chris arrives to get Leela and finds she's a tad over-dressed (although Abby thinks she's beautiful looking). Chris suggests they leave, but Abby thinks they need a way to get there. Although Chris says the party's a couple of blocks away, Leela's glass slippers will prevent her from walking far. Abby tries a transportation trick, but her poor aiming sends the spell toward Chris, who turns into a horse. Chris insists he be turned back. Once done so, Abby tries the trick again, giving Chris a model airplane. They tell her it's too small and Abby's idea of shrinking them won't do. Instead, Abby tries her trick once more, providing a lovely coach. Chris, looking to fit in with Leela and the coach, requests to be dressed like Prince Charming. Abby tries the clothing spell on him, putting the pirate outfit on him this time. Abby tries to fix it, but Chris actually prefers the outfit. As the two ride off to the party, Abby yells to them to be back before midnight and concludes "I love to help!"

First they must poof a gown on him. They turn him into a hula dancer (dressing “down”), a clown and James Brown, until they come up with a good rhyme and make a gown appear. Next, they need glass slippers, but the ones they conjure up are too small and too big (and end up breaking, forcing Niblet to clean them up). They call on Spot, who shows them images of the number 12, which Gonnigan realizes is Blogg’s shoe size. Next, they need to turn a pumpkin into a coach, but Niblet has already eaten it.
