SCENE 5 Just when Baby Bear thinks his gifts have reached the tip of greatness, Zoe arrives with her gift. She explains that whenever she thinks of him, it makes her happy, so she incorporated that feeling into a dance. She then performs her “Baby Bear Makes Me Happy Ballet” for him, aided by two kids. Baby Bear loves the dance so much and performs the dance with her again. Telly still wishes he had an idea.

SCENE 6 Telly brings Baby Bear outside Big Bird’s nest because Big Bird and Snuffy too have a gift prepared. But, when they enter, they reveal that they have written a poem for him, but haven’t finished it yet. They read through, until the end where they’re missing a rhyme for “end.” Telly suggests “shplend”, when Baby Bear points out the poem is fine as it is. They then realize the missing rhyme is “friend!” Telly vows to make something better than “shplend” for Baby Bear.

Everyone then arrives singing “Happy Birthday to You” and Alan presents Baby Bear with Telly’s gift, a porridge cake. He blows out his candle and everyone heads to Hooper’s to eat.

Notes[]

  • Baby Bear's birthday, according to Sesame Street calendars and magazines, is May 12th.
  • Zoe wears her tutu, which she previously wore in Episode 3851, throughout most of this episode. She began wearing it on a regular basis from the next season until Season 49.
