	SCENE 1	Oscar takes Irvine to Hooper's Store for a Grouchy treat. They peruse the special "Grouch Menu" and Irvine chooses some pickle ice cream. She gobbles it up quickly and wants more, but Oscar tells her no. She hatches an idea and starts acting nice and kissing her uncle. Oscar sees right through her plan - she's acting nice to drive him crazy, so he'll cave in and buy her another ice cream.

	SCENE 2	Irvine continues acting nice and singing a happy song. Inspired, Oscar thinks singing a Grouchy song will put Irvine back in a rotten mindset. He sings her his signature song, but she still ends up acting nice. Mr. Handford can't help but laugh.

	Cartoon	The Great Inventor Series: Science Salutes the Men and Women Who Have Changed the Way We Live. Cartoon about the days when people tried drinking ice cream soda before straws were invented. Awful messes were made getting more of the refreshment on their clothes than in their bellies. Until one day an ice cream parlor janitor noticed that when people brought their leashed pet anteaters in to enjoy an ice cream soda, the floor was always sucked completely clean. Realizing that nature had solved the problem, the janitor invented artificial anteater noses that strapped on over people's mouths... which eventually evolved into the modern straw. 	SCENE 3	Mr. Handford obtains a copy of How to Handle Your Grouch Child by Bruelope Screech, a Grouch child expert. The book's very specific advice for Oscar is to jump up and down, yelling "Phooey" 5 times. The Kids count along, but it doesn't work. The book advises him to jump 10 times now and when that fails, 20 times. Finally, the book suggests when all else fails, he must be...nice to his niece!

Oscar promises she can get another pickle ice cream tomorrow and the two act Grouchy toward each other. Mr. Handford joins Samantha at her table as she announces the sponsors.
