SCENE 1 Monty introduces the story of Little Jack Horner, who has recently given up eating with his thumb. At Hooper's, Katie Couric (subbing for a vacationing Prairie Dawn) interviews Horner, who has tried using parts of his face to eat his pie, with less-than-satisfactory results: he stuck in his hair and pulled out a pear, then stuck in his snout and pulled out a trout, etc. He vows to make a comeback, however, then sticks his thumb in the pie and accidentally flings a plum into Katie's eye. Coming up next: Is Oscar about to play a non-Grouchy game?

SCENE 2 Monty throws the show to Prairie Dawn, back from vacation. She tries to interview Oscar on his latest, seemingly fun activity, but he refuses to answer any questions. She interviews Gina instead. Oscar calls the kids over to play a round of "Three of These Things" with bowls of broccoli, meatballs, mashed potatoes and ice cream. The ice cream doesn't belong, according to the kids, since it's dessert. Oscar reveals the Grouch answer - they all belong, since they're all ingredients of Grouch ice cream. The smell of the concoction causes Prairie to pass out and Gina concludes the report.
