SCENE 1 Big Bird asks Gordon a series of questions about why the Fix-It Shop is closed. Once Gordon has answered all of them, Big Bird wants to make sure Maria and Luis know about everything they're missing while they're away on their honeymoon. Gordon suggests that Big Bird write them a letter of all the things he wants to say to them. Before he does that, he asks to borrow Gordon's pencil. "It always pays to ask questions!" Big Bird remarks.

Big Bird hopes the same thing won't happen to him, since Bob is now reading a book on training birds.

Gordon comes in with a postcard from Maria and Luis, saying that they'll be coming back tomorrow. Big Bird dutifully writes down each sentence Gordon says.
