Brian Stokes Mitchell (b. 1958) is an actor best known for his work on Broadway, having garnered a Tony Award for Best Actor in Kiss Me, Kate and nominations for his roles in Ragtime, King Hedley II, and Man of La Mancha. Other credits include recurring roles on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Frasier, and cartoon voice-over roles on such series as The California Raisins, Batman: The Animated Series, and Animaniacs.
In 2002, Mitchell starred as the puppeteer Paul in a concert version of Carnival, which featured puppets built by the Jim Henson Company. Mitchell also performed Carrot Top, Horrible Henry, and Renardo the Fox in the production.
Mitchell performed with the cast of Sesame Street at the 2007 Annual Sesame Workshop Benefit Gala.
Other credits include appearing on 2008's broadcast of A Capitol Fourth, The Love Boat, and a 2006 Great Performances concert of South Pacific.
