On New Year's Eve, Rowlf the Dog is blowing a party squeaker in the opening. For his own spot, Jimmy Dean introduces him by saying they went to great expense to hire the greatest swami of them all. Rowlf, in a turban with a feather, is peering into his crystal ball. Rowlf, in a hucksterish voice, encourages people to step up and let him predict what's in store for 1965. He tells Jimmy that the dogcatcher got Rowlf, but he is the famous Swami Taj Mahal. Jimmy quips that he must have trained way down upon the Swami River (and laughs at his joke). Rowlf offers to predict his future for a mere ten dollars, since he's a seer. Jimmy tells him to forget it, "for I'm not a seer sucker," and laughs again at his joke.

Rowlf continues to entreat Jimmy, who asks if he's really clairvoyant. "Not exactly," says Rowlf, repeating a routine. When Jimmy calls him a phony, he says "Exactly." Jimmy says "I don't want to hang any crepe, daddy," but he knows he's Rowlf and can't predict the future. Rowlf says words are appearing in his ball: "Made in Japan." Rowlf assures Jimmy that in 1965, stocks will go up and taxes will go up. But will Jimmy have a hit record? "This is for predictions, not miracles." Jimmy is even more skeptical, but Rowlf gazes into the crystal and predicts that most popular entertainment star in 1965 will have the initials J. D. He is tall and from the West... yes, it's John Dwayne. "He was swimming in the Swami River in his seersucker suit."

Rowlf tries again by showing he can read palms. He follows the marriage line all the way up Jimmy's coat sleeve. "What do you see?" "A long marriage and torn underwear." Jimmy silently pulls a fist on Rowlf, who asks for his palm again. This time, he predicts a little visitor, the patter of little feet, somebody cute and lovable... "What do you know, it's me! I'm coming to visit you." Jimmy Dean predicts Rowlf is welcome any year. The two then sing "Together Wherever We Go."

At the end of the show, as the credits roll, Jimmy, his guests, and entire cast (including Rowlf) sing "Auld Lang Syne."
