- Adolf Nureyev — his trained seals don't show up in episode 204.
- Prunella and Her Prancing Poultry — cancels on account of duck season in episode 219.
- Manny Kaye — tuned clam player announced to appear the week after Danny Kaye.
- The Dancing Mountains — nearly make it to The Muppet Theatre in episode 412, but Kermit cancels the in-person acceptance of their award.
- Angus McGonagle — guest scheduled to appear in episode 417; he was cancelled in favor of the stars of Star Wars.
- The Berlin National Opera Company — was to have played the first act finale from Siegfried in episode 517, but they couldn't make it and sent The Salzburg Sauerkraut Singers instead.
- Indira Mahajira — scheduled to sing a medley of "Urdu ditties" in episode 517, but Miss Piggy performed "Just an Old Fashioned Girl" in her place.
- Icy Gomez the Reykjavik Warbler — could not perform in episode 517 because he came down with the flu.
- Benny Brillstein — a Yiddish yodeler and the scheduled guest for episode 519. After he cancelled, Kermit made messenger Chris Langham the guest. The name is an in-joke reference to Henson's agent, Bernie Brillstein.
