Writer of children's books Fetze Pijlman also wrote a lot of texts for television, and educational programs. He translated lyrics for Sesamstraat, the Dutch co-production of Sesame Street, as well.

Together with Hans Dorrestijn, Willem Wilmink, Karel Eykman, Ries Moonen, and Jan Riem he started a writers group in 1970 that produced many songs and lyrics for Sesamstraat and other famous Dutch children's programs.
