Essra Mohawk (1948-2023) was a singer and songwriter who performed the theme song vocals for "Teeny Little Superguy" on Sesame Street. Her previous children's TV work was in three Schoolhouse Rock! segments (including solos on "Sufferin' Til Suffrage" and "Interjections!")
Mohawk began recording in the 1960s and has released multiple albums, as well as backing Jerry Garcia on his 1982 album Run for the Roses. She wrote songs for Vanilla Fudge, Cyndi Lauper ("Change of Heart"), and Tina Turner.
