In April 2005, Sesame Workshop announced that the characters of Ernie and Bert had been adapted as stop-motion or figures for a three minute pilot, produced by European company Misseri Studio. The pilot led to Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures which features a stop-motion animated versions of Bert and Ernie, voiced by Steve Whitmire and Eric Jacobson.
Bert and Ernie in the intro to Shalom Sesame. The animation was later reused for the intro to Open Sesame.
Ernie appeared in the animated "Sesame Street Home Video" logo seen on many Sony Wonder video releases.
An animated Bert and Ernie appeared in segments for Sesame Street English and Count TV.
