In April 2005, [[Sesame Workshop]] announced that the characters of [[Ernie]] and [[Bert]] had been adapted as stop-motion or figures for a three minute pilot, produced by European company Misseri Studio. The pilot led to ''[[Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures]]'' which features a stop-motion animated versions of Bert and Ernie, voiced by [[Steve Whitmire]] and [[Eric Jacobson]].

[[Ernie]] and [[Bert]] have appeared in animated form in opening titles for different ''[[Sesame Street]]'' international co-productions and specials, including ''[[Shalom Sesame]]'', ''[[Open Sesame]]'', and ''[[Sesam, luk dig op]]'', among others. Bert and Ernie fly, on a paper airplane, from [[Sesame Street (location)|Sesame Street]] across the globe, stopping in at different exotic locations, before arriving at the localized country.
