Ernie and Bert visit Susan. Her cat is having kittens and they ask her if they could take one home once they're big enough to leave their other. Susan explains all of the responcibilities that come with raising kittens. Such as feeding them and cleaning up the cat litter. Ernie thinks this will be fun however, and a few weeks later the kittens can now be taken from their mother. Bert and Ernie return and choose a striped kitten, which Susan suggests they name it Bernie, for both of their names. They agree, liking the idea and they take the kitten home.
