SCENE Elmo and Alan are reading The Most Incredible Nursery Rhyme in the World in Hooper's Store, when they both hear a boat, then see it (includes a rare appearance of Sesame Street) and the storefront is boarded by a group of Bookaneers. An Anything Muppet and a salty dog are led by their pirate captain, played by guest star Tina Fey; the three sing a shanty about their love of reading. They demand that Elmo hand over his book, but Elmo explains that he loves to read. The pirates invite Elmo to become a Bookaneer, but he must first pass a series of tests.

SCENE, cont'd After saying the alphabet with a squid, the Bookaneers set Elmo on a quest with a treasure map.

SCENE, cont'd Alan, Elmo, and the Bookaneers use the map to make them locate themselves at the Fix-It Shop. The map says to count eight more steps until seeing the surprise. After counting eight paces, the pirates find themselves at the Library. Their treasure is the pages and pages found in the books that fill the library shelves.

Muppets Smart Cookies: Making Whoopie in the Library
The Smart Cookies arrive at the local library, where the librarian asks them to keep the Crumb from disturbing the silence. Sure enough, the Crumb makes his way inside and unleashes his whoopie pie, which causes havoc all over the building. Miss Fortune tells them they need something with strings to stop it, so Cookie Monster fetches a puppet and a yo-yo. He finally realizes it's a net and catches the whoopie pie. The librarian is relieved that peace has been restored, until the Smart Cookies create a large racket by chasing the Crumb around the room.
