Picture Segment Description
Grover tells the viewer today is Mother's Day and tries coming up with a way to celebrate. His mommy rightfully suggests a hug will suffice.

Elmo is drawing a card to give to his mom for Mother's Day. Oscar correctly assumes there's going to be a song and hides in his trash can, while everyone (including Telly and the Two-Headed Monster) sings about celebrating their moms (or surrogate mom in Big Bird's case).

SCENE cont'd
Cookie Monster observes everyone preparing gifts and realizes he's forgotten to get one for his mommy. Since she likes cookies, Alan proposes he give her the ones he's baked, but Cookie Monster instantly gobbles them up. He then tries making a card like Elmo's, but the cookie drawings make him hungry. Alan tells him to distract himself by singing a song, which works only until the song ends and he eats the card.

SCENE cont'd
Grover happens by and shows them his Mother's Day gift: a locket with pictures of himself and his mommy. Inspired, Cookie gets one himself. However, his mind shifts to eating cookies and wants to eat the locket. Alan tells him to control himself by counting to 10, but Cookie eats it anyway.

SCENE cont'd
Alan suggests he simply give her some cookies and offers a better strategy for control himself: when he gets hungry, look at the picture of his mommy and think about how she'll feel having the cookies. His mommy shows up and he presents her with his gift (in song). She's touched and the two gobble the cookies together.

Elmo and the gang introduce the letter of the day, M, with a song and dance.

New audio is added at the end, with Elmo stating "M" is for "mom."
"You're My Super-Mom"

Smart Cookies: The Snickerdoodle
The team cleans up the Chipowski residence in preparation for Mother's Day. The Crumb dupes Cookie Monster again and gains access to the house, where he releases his Snickerdoodle, which doodles over everything. Miss Fortune's clues tell them they need something rectangular, made from trees and can be drawn upon. Cookie jumps to conclusions before finally realizing it's paper, which he uses to lure the Snickerdoodle away. They clean the house up just in time for Mrs. Chipowski's return. She then leads them in a pursuit of the Crumb as he vows vengeance.
Count von Count and friends sing and stomp to find the number of the day - 19.
(First: Episode 4515)
A girl counts the 19 members of her family as they assemble for a photo.

A deleted scene from the street story.

I asked the director Ken Diego if it would be okay to place a pic of my Mom and I somewhere in the background, so that she could be a part of the show. Instead Ken had it placed right in the Hooper's Store window, so it could be seen right behind the Muppets and me in every shot. I of course cried when I saw it on set.[1]
  • A deleted segment from the street story involved Cookie Monster getting a cookie-designed pillow for his mommy, only to eat that too. This portion would precede Grover's cameo, as evidenced by the stuffing on the table.
