4313a

4313b
SCENE Big Bird and Snuffy find a stage in the middle of the yard. An Anything Muppet host (Matt Vogel) appears, declaring the two as the hosts for today's Letter of the Day Show. They start hopping in joy of finding out the letter of the day, causing the letter behind the curtains to fall over and break. Because it was not visible at first, they don't know how to repair it. They get the idea that the show's guests will provide clues for what the letter was, as each guest is related to the letter in some way.

4313d

4313e
SCENE cont'd The first guest is a Box. They think the letter of the day is B, but they only have two straight pieces. The next guest is a Ball of Wax. They think the letter could be W, but it has four lines. The next guest is a Tyrannosaurus-Rex, played by Leela (who wanted to be on the show, and also loves dressing as a dinosaur). Big Bird gives up on the cause, not being able to figure out how all the guests are related when they start with different letters.
4313f

4313g
SCENE cont'd Snuffy encourages them to keep thinking when they hit upon an idea: the words start with different letters, but end the same way: with the letter X! Using his powers of observation, he finds some "stick-thingies" on the front that he tries to use as an activation switch. The horse thinks they are used for pulling the cart and Grover runs off and retrieves a worm to pull the cart. The horse thinks the worm is too small and they need some force to move it. Grover returns with a chicken, which should provide a larger force. The chicken pulls her best, but instead lays an egg and goes off on maternity leave. Grover brings a pig, who is able to move the cart a few feet before getting "oinked-out." The horse points out that Grover is bigger than the pig and he could move the cart.
