SCENE The camera pans from the Arbor to Hooper's Store where Chris serves a bowl of raisin raspberry ravioli to Detective Alfie Betts (Adam Rodriguez), who's on vacation from his duties. Elmo and Abby Cadabby pop into frame to welcome the viewer and walk over to meet Betts. The detective already recognizes who they are, listing off their names and characteristics, and explains that he investigates to find answers to problems.

SCENE cont'd Suddenly, a scream is heard. Telly runs to Detective Betts panicking that his robot and remote have gone missing. Leela comes by looking for her roses and rake that have disappeared from the garden. Elmo and Abby ask Betts to investigate, but he insists that he's on vacation. However, once Betts realizes his ravioli is gone as well, he's on the case. Elmo and Abby volunteer to be his "crackerjack team of detectives," with Abby poofing her and Elmo into formal detective suits. Still in his relax-wear, Betts goes off to change and starts the investigation by striking a detective-y pose.

SCENE cont'd Betts and the group deduce that all the missing items begin with the letter R, but why are they missing? Just then, the Amazing Mumford arrives fretting that his rabbit disappeared before he was able to pull off his magic trick. Since "rabbit" also begins with R, it's deemed to be part of the mystery. Mumford and Telly claim to have seen someone running away, so Betts draws out their description of the suspect, revealing to be the letter R!

SCENE cont'd Elmo, Abby and Detective Betts formulate a plan to bait the letter with something that starts with R. Elmo suggests using rigatoni. Once the trap is set, they hide behind the fruit stand at Hooper's Store and observe a letter nibbling the bowl of pasta. They compare him to the drawing to verify that it's the letter R, but just when they rush over to catch him, he quickly vanishes having eaten all of the rigatoni. The team determines that they need a heavier R item, so Abby and Elmo propose using a large rock from nearby. The letter R promptly carries the rock away, but the detectives are able to catch up and confront him. The letter R confesses to taking all the items because he loves R words. Feeling repentance, the letter R returns all of the items from his room.

Muppets / Animation Abby's Flying Fairy School
The students are in the middle of music class, but the music they make isn't too great. Abby requests they just use magic to play their instruments, but Mrs. Sparklenose says practice is the right path. A flying boombox swoops in the window and they press "play," releasing Morty the Musical Muse (who speaks in rhyme). Before he can leave, they must pass his three challenges. With a wave of his baton, Abby's trombone flies out of control. In order to get down, she must change the pitch; by playing high notes, she goes higher, and playing low notes, she makes it back to the ground. Next, Gonnigan's maracas shake violently, quaking the entire school. To top them, he needs to change the tempo. He discovers that means fast and slow and is able to stop the shaking by moving them slowly. Finally, Blogg's drum starts bouncing on top of him and must change the dynamics of the music (how loud and soft). Blogg grabs the drum and plays it softly, sedating it. The students have learned many new things about music and Morty takes his leave. The kids decide to apply their knowledge and make music instead of snack time.
