SCENE
Elmo welcomes the viewer and waits for Maria to arrive with some paper for a story he’s making about the letter of the day, G. His story is about the Planet G, where everything starts with the letter G, but he doesn’t know any G words. Maria helps him with the G sound and he thinks of a G word, golf! He begins writing the story, where he hits his golf ball way up into outer space onto the Planet G. Applying the G sound, he comes up with the next part, where he rides his goldfish Dorothy to the planet to retrieve his golf ball. He finds the ball, but can’t think of a G-word conflict.

Baby Bear exits Hooper's Store after a “just right” breakfast and finds Elmo making the G sound, and asks if he’s okay. He then heads off to school and express his love for his teacher, Mother Goose. Elmo then realizes that goose begins with G and adds more to the story. He finds his ball atop a large G, but a goose appears and begins sitting on it, thinking it’s an egg and refuses to move.

Then, Zoe and her girls arrive. Maria points out that “girls” begin with G as well. Elmo adds them to his story as they dance away. On the Planet G, they help Elmo get rid of the goose by doing the “Get Up and Go Dance”. Once the goose dances away, Elmo is about to get his ball back, when he hears a strange, shuffling sound.

SCENE cont'd
Back on the street, Elmo finds Oscar’s pet goat Gus munching away at his story. Maria demands he find something else to eat. Elmo adds the goat to the story. Now that the goose is gone, the goat appears and begins chewing on his ball.

SCENE cont'd
Chris then arrives to see if they need anything to eat. Elmo asks Chris is the menu has any G foods on it. Chris says that the letter of the day special is goulash. Inspired, Elmo writes in the story that he trades the ball of a bowl of goulash for the goat to eat. Now with his golf ball back, he flies back home to Sesame Street on Dorothy. Maria enjoyed the story and wishes to hear it again. Chris listens in as well.

GNN interupted the program just because they feel like it, so there! Anderson Cooper sits in for Oscar (Blech!) and talks to Grouch newscasters Walter Cranky who Grrrs and Dan Rather-not who said, "I'd rather not!" about the letter G. A recent poll shows that half of the Grouches surveyed think G is a Grouchy letter, since it starts words like "goo," "garbage" and "gastroenteritis." The other half thinks G is a nice letter, since it begins words such as "good," "gumdrop" and "giggle." (Each G word mentioned is scrolled at the bottom of the screen in the style of CNN). Anderson is in a tight spot since neither of the newsgrouches want to give him their opinions. He asks himself "What would Oscar do?" at which point Oscar enters and answers the question himself: the letter G is indeed Grouchy, since it starts the word "Grouch." Oscar mentions that tomorrow's guests will be Meredith Beware-a and Diane Spoiler who Anderson would rather not join Oscar, and returns us to our "irregularly scheduled program."

Abby and Gonnigan work on their magic macaroni art. Blogg uses magic to create a life-size Macaroni dinosaur. With a touch of "The Spice of Life", he brings his creation to life. However, it begins wreaking havoc all over the class room, wrecking everything. They try various methods of stopping it, including making a Macaroni stop sign, but to no avail. Mrs. Sparklenose suggests they "Spot the solution." They call on Spot, who shows them things that are humongous. They get the idea they need something big to stop him. A large wall doesn't work for them, however. Blogg comes up with a giant meatball, which the Macaronisaurus begins playing with. Everyone cheers, while the giant meatball pins Blogg to the floor.
