SCENE 1 At dusk, Chris welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street as he closes Hooper's Store, and listens to all the nighttime sounds. Telly and Baby Bear pass by him with a net and a jar, and tell him that they're trying to catch fireflies. Chris goes home, and Telly and Baby Bear tell the viewer to help them out by pointing out any fireflies they see. One flies above their head, and they scramble to catch it as they follow it near and far.

SCENE 1
cont'd
The chase leads them to the front of the laundromat, where Telly gets an idea to use a flashlight to attract the firefly. The method works, but then they start to notice that the captured firefly doesn't look so happy and bright anymore. They wonder why he looks so sad. Leela encounters them, and instead of telling them explicitly why the firefly is sad, she suggests that they all pretend to be fireflies, who fly around and suddenly end up in a jar. They realize that there's not much flying room in a jar, so they decide to set the firefly free.

Global Grover: Grover opens a box he brought back from Iceland, but discovers that it is empty. To give us a glimpse of what was supposed to be inside the box, Grover rolls a clip about puffins in Iceland. Arna is a young, Iclandic girl who rescue baby puffins that have flown into town instead of out to sea where they belong. Arna and her family bring these baby birds back to their home, take care of them overnight and then take them to sea the next morning where they release them.
This segment replaces "Murray Has a Little Lamb" in the Sprout version.
