What's the Word on the Street?: Murray Monster introduces the word dog.

SCENE 1

Baby Bear and Telly Monster welcome the viewer to Sesame Street, and look forward to reading a book with Abby Cadabby.

Abby arrives and introduces her magical book: The Wild Adventures of Action Dog. The others hear a barking sound, which turns out to come from none other than the book itself.

Abby, Baby Bear, and Telly begin to read the book, but are interrupted by noises and the shaking of the cover with each page they turn.

Abby receives a call on her wand from her Mommy, and leaves to run an errand on the way home. She lets Telly and Baby Bear borrow the magical book, and disappears.

Telly and Baby Bear try to continue reading the book, but it flies out of control, sweeping them down the street. After landing at the Fix-It Shop, the word "Dog" pops out of the book. Telly is frazzled by this complication, although Luis calms him and suggests they find the word and put it back in the book.

Baby Bear suggests they dress up as dogs to lure the word back into the book. They adorn fake ears and tails and bark, but are unsuccessful.

Baby Bear's next idea is to dress up as the word "DOG," recruiting Luis to fill in the third letter. They attract the attention of the word and chase after it.

SCENE 4

Baby Bear makes a "Lost Dog" sign. The word "DOG" runs to the table, but looks thirsty. They lure him first with a bowl of water, then with a bowl filled with the word "WATER," but are still unable to get the word back in the book. Abby comes back, and Telly conveys their problems and frustrations to her. She suggests that they turn to page 11.

After turning the book to page 11, the word "DOG" fetches the stick on the page and runs back into the book!
