Baby Bear prepares himself to write an original story about the Three Bears. Elmo notes that he likes stories about stars, planets, and rocket ships, promptly inspiring Baby Bear to title the work "The Three Bears in Outer Space."

The plot of the story begins to bear itself out in action. The Three Astro Bears try to find the answer to the question of how porridge tastes in space...until the red anti-gravity button is triggered.

Zoe walks by, and notes that Rocco suggests that the story should have a cowgirl in it. This brings forth the middle part of the story.

In a puff of smoke, Cowgirl Zoe and her masked horse Horse appear and attempt to round up the porridge...without success. Horse then suggests that the bears hit the red button again to restore gravity, solving the problem. After they leave, however, the ship begins to shake.

Big Bird comes by, and the progress of the story thus far is explained to him. He suggests the addition of a tap-dancing chicken to the plot, bringing forth the conclusion of the story.

The shaking proves to be caused by a tap-dancing chicken on-ship, preventing the porridge from being tasted. Baby Bear asks the chicken to stop. He consents, and the family is finally able to taste their porridge in space. The bears then go home and live happily ever after.
