| ||SCENE||Baby Bear and Casey are playing catch with the ball, when Baby Bear notice the viewer and welcome them to Sesame Street. He says that everyone is playing catch today. Telly Monster arrives, and Baby Bear asks if he wants to play catch. Telly says that he never learned how to catch a ball. Baby Bear tries to throw the ball at him, but Telly can’t catch it.|
| ||SCENE, cont'd||Baby Bear suggests to Telly that he should have his hands out to catch the ball. Telly does this, but he misses again. Baby Bear tells him that his eyes are closed, and that he should keep his eye on the ball. But with his hands out and his eyes focused on the ball, Telly still can’t catch it. Baby Bear gets a wee inspiration and takes off.|
| ||SCENE, cont'd||Baby Bear comes back with his invention, the “Keep-your-eye-on-the-ball-and-catch-it Machine". Baby Bear lets the ball roll down and onto the springy ramp that shoots the ball high in the sky.|

| ||SCENE, cont'd||Rosita returns the ball, and Baby Bear explains that Telly is trying to learn how to catch. Rosita teaches him what her aunt, Rosa, has taught her. They stand close together, and she gives the ball to Telly. Telly is excited that he has caught the ball, but Baby Bear points out that it's not really a catch since they're too close. Rosita explains that they'll now move farther back from each other and she will pass the ball to him. She throws the ball to Telly, but he misses it again. Rosita leaves to go talk to her aunt about this problem.|
Baby Bear asks Maria for help. Maria uses her method of catching, by having Telly catch a bigger ball. She gets a beach ball from a girl, Victoria, and tosses it to Telly, but he misses it. Baby Bear asks Victoria if she has a bigger ball, but she says that's the only big ball they have.
| ||SCENE, cont'd||As Victoria leaves, a cow arrives. Telly and Baby Bear recognize her from the nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle, as the cow who jumped over the moon. The cow says that Telly could catch her after she jumps over the moon. The cow gets a running start and then jumps really high. When she returns to Earth, Telly catches the cow. More confident now, he tries to catch the ball again -- but he misses!|
Baby Bear and Maria encourage Telly not to give up. Baby Bear says that even a major league player would never give up. Baby Bear gets another idea, and runs off. He returns with Joe Torre, manager of the New York Yankees. Telly explains to Joe that he has a hard time catching a ball. Joe Torre explains that catching is hard, but if Telly keeps practicing, he'll be able to do it.
| ||SCENE, cont'd||As Joe returns to his Yankees baseball game, Baby Bear asks him if he could return their ball. Joe throws the ball to them -- and Telly catches it! Maria and Baby Bear congratulate Telly. Then Telly and Baby Bear keep practicing to be better at catching.|
